Talk 2 – Innovative education and Design-thinking training

ITCILO is the training arm of the International Labour Organization.
The International Training Centre is an advanced technical and vocational training institution in the heart of a riverside park in Turin, Italy. Founded in 1964 by the International Labour Organization and the Government of Italy, the Centre’s mission is to achieve decent work for all women and men.
The Centre is dedicated to the pursuit of learning and training to achieve Sustainable Development Goal 8: “Promote inclusive and sustainable economic growth, employment, and decent work for all.”
The Centre offers learning, knowledge-sharing, and institutional capacity-building programmes for governments, workers’ and employers’ organizations, and development partners. It aims to be a forum where development intersects with all forms of knowledge in the world of work, from tripartism to technology. As a multicultural hub for learning, the Centre welcomes everyone, regardless of gender, race, or class.
Tom Wambeke
Tom Wambeke (Belgium) is graduated in Educational Sciences, holds a Master in Cultural Management and an Executive Business LEAD degree in Innovation at Stanford University.
Before joining the International Training Centre of the ILO he was an Assistant Professor at the University of Leuven and innovation coach at Open Higher Education. He is currently Chief of Learning Innovation which specializes in providing sustainable learning solutions with the objective to generate impact and organizational change.
Massimiliano Leone
Massimiliano Leone works as Head of Digital Media and Design at ITCILO. He holds a Master’s degree in Multimedia and Audiovisual Communication from the University of Turin. Before joining ITCILO, he was heading the digital team at the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) in Nairobi, Kenya. Prior to that, he worked in the areas of multimedia and social media for Radiotelevisione Italiana (RAI), the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) and the International Centre for Trade and Sustainable Development (ICTSD) in Geneva.
