About us
Graphic Days® 2021
16th – 26th September, Toolbox Coworking
Ten days of initiatives dedicated to visual design. The new edition of the festival includes exhibitions, performances, experiential activities and workshops within the space of the headquarters at Toolbox Coworking and numerous events spread throughout the city.
Touch is the fil rouge of the sixth edition of the international festival dedicated to visual design, an invitation to return to physicality and sensoriality, an invitation to stay in contact.
Graphic Days® – Touch addresses the issue of reconnection between the senses in visual communications: a look at the near future in which we will be able to experience what surrounds us through 360 degree sensoriality. Social design becomes the instrument for creating an encounter between people, providing them with new ways of reading and using innovative projects through art.
Highlights
The headquarter of the festival will exhibit projects of young designers that have participated in the Neologia open call, and of illustrators that have contributed to the tenth edition of the Posterheroes contest with their posters on socially-relevant topics. The theme of the festival will be defined through the work of the illustrator Cecilia Campironi and through the reflection proposed in the exhibition ‘the body does not lie‘ which collects the works produced by the students of the Faculty of Design and Arts of the Free University of Bolzano. Space will also be given to an in-depth study on social design and a special focus will be dedicated to Ukraine, guest country of the sixth edition, created in partnership with the Ukrainian Institute, thanks to the collaboration of the Pictoric collective.
At the beginning of the exhibition, in a dark room, an experimental activity will be proposed with the aim of stimulating a reflection on how the way of interacting with people and objects has changed: immersive projections, stroboscopic light shows and interactive installations will guide the public in experimenting with a different form of touch.
Among the appointments, September 17th is the day of ‘In the City‘, the calendar of initiatives curated by visual design studios and cultural institutions of Turin; on September 25th and 26th there will be an outdoor exhibition-market with the works of craftsmen and artists, not just a fair but a cultural project with live performances and impromptu laboratory activities
