Since He was a child, He has always been passionate about drawing and the figurative arts. He has proactively attended drawing and painting courses. Mattia obtained his high school diploma at the “Scuola Pubblica d’Arte in Venice”, during these years of study He took part in and won several competitions organised by the school.
After obtaining his high school diploma in pictorial decoration He moved to Milan to continue studies at the IED (European Institute of Design), where obtained a scholarship for the three-year course in visual communication. Then, Mattia, specialised in illustration and is now part of the graphic design team at United Colors Of Benetton, where He has been working for 10 years on illustrations for the children’s sector.
At the same time, He continues to work as a freelance illustrator, in recent years has collaborated with Goppion Caffè, Garance and Marion, Fallani Venezia and the magazine Brillo, for which He created and illustrated “Mattia Riami’s colour column”. Colour is his world: Mattia enjoys experimenting and playing with colours, always looking for new harmonies.
In his work, Mattia has always tried to combine his studies based on traditional techniques with the new digital techniques available today. His works synthesise these two worlds together, making them indispensable for each other.
