For the event, Calli.gra.ture, an artistic-cultural space which houses the “Piccolo Museo della Scrittura Manuale” , hosts the exhibition “A look at the past to create a future”.
On the days from 17 to 23 May, the space is open for the entire duration of the event from 10.30 am to 8.00 pm. On these days it is possible to visit the “Piccolo Museo della Scrittura Manuale” for free, see some curious objects that come to life manually and experiment with the use of writing instruments used in different parts of the world, even unusual ones, bringing a social and cultural value to the event.
On May 24th from 3.00pm to 8.00pm it is possible to observe automata, curious and ingenious hand-cranked machines, operating manually, therefore without energy consumption. These automata were designed and created using common objects that are now obsolete and, through a creative process, decontextualized to give life to new self-propelled machines. The exhibited objects are automata connected to the world of writing and printing that integrate perfectly with the world of Calli.gra.ture. A journey through time that aims to enhance human ingenuity and creativity, the use of hands to construct thought, also taking inspiration from a phrase by Steve Jobs “use the past to create the future”.
