What about an object that is replaced by a more useful one? When we think that artificial intelligence could replace human intelligence we ask the same question: now deemed useless? Will we become obsolete?
We want to create the objects of the future starting from the items we use less and less and mix them together randomly. Ugly, beautiful, unstable, inefficient, unoptimized, but also original and not playable items. These are surreal and fantastic creations, useless and alive.
Like in Bruno Munari’s Macchine Inutili, this is an experimentation free from any production logic. We also interface with the AI during this creative process that celebrates uselessness and recycling.
The result will be an exhibition of humanoid graphics and illustrations, semi-artificial ideas, and instructions on the “useless objects” of the future. Will they be unique art creations, or serial technological products? Let’s try to ask us, artificial intelligence, and you too.
