Yes, plants do make sounds. How?
Whether you’re new to Arduino programming, a musician, a botany enthusiast, or simply curious, you can discover it at the “Singing Plants” workshop, with Nicolò Zilocchi. Bio-feedback detection with sensors on plants and its transformation into audio signals will be explored.
A 2-hour workshop will delve into research and projects related to collecting and sonifying bio-feedback from plants. Participants, divided into groups, will acquire data from plants and collectively listen and harmonically optimize to compose a piece with the collected sounds. Basic knowledge of Arduino programming and MIDI protocol is preferably required.
Evocative shots from Federico Masini’s “They Return to Their Earth” photography series will be the scenography of the entire experience. The event will conclude with a musical performance by Nicolò Zilocchi.
