On 16 November 1974, one of the most famous radio messages in history was sent from the Arecibo radio telescope in Puerto Rico. The attempt was to try to communicate with an alien species. The communication was sent to the globular cluster M13 which is 25,000 light years away from us. For such a basic form of communication one could only choose the language of mathematics.
The message was composed of 1679 binary digits, that is the product of 2 prime numbers: 23 and 73. It resulted in a grid of 23 rows x 73 columns containing a series of information such as the numbers from 1 to 10, the characteristics of DNA, the representation of the human being and the solar system. The message is still on its way and will arrive in 50,000 years. But in the meantime if you were to send a love message in binary code to an alien species to communicate the great themes of the earth as solidarity, love, brotherhood what would be its representation?
Come and find out.
SEND LOVE. NOW
