Marna

Marna is a visual artist and visual designer. He lives between Milan and the eastern shore of Lake Maggiore, where he carries out his artistic research through paper, stencils, and abstract forms. He is currently working on a visual exploration made of lines, simple shapes, and patterns. He primarily uses stencil techniques, building modules that he combines to create his compositions. Each piece is born from playing with the elements he creates, combining them differently each time: he enjoys how simple visual rules can generate infinite—and sometimes unexpected—possibilities. He mainly works on paper, choosing supports that vary in weight, texture, and composition. This allows him to treat each work as a unique piece, even when it’s part of a series. The choice of paper becomes an integral part of the artwork itself—he is particularly interested in observing how these papers interact with the paints he uses.
