A symposium, a participatory lab, and a workshop on Just Transition. Reciprocity is a two-part project (September 2024 – March 2025) that explores Turin and Málaga—two different cities, both affected by gentrification. Málaga’s historic center is being transformed by mass tourism, yet it is also witnessing the rise of resistance movements, such as La Casa Invisible, where civic engagement, architecture, art, and culture become tools for change.

The second chapter of the project will take place on February 28 and March 1, 2025, at La Casa Invisible and Imprenta Matriz in Málaga. The event will feature a printmaking workshop, an exhibition, and a public talk focused on Reciprocity and The Rehabilitation of La Casa Invisible – Chapter I. The discussion will explore the parallels between the two contexts, their struggles, and the effects of touristification.

The screen printing and letterpress workshops will take center stage in the second chapter of Reciprocity, celebrating the 18th anniversary of La Casa Invisible. The screen printing workshop will be held at La Casa Invisible, while the letterpress workshop will take place at Imprenta Matriz. The works created during the Reciprocity workshops will be displayed in the streets of Málaga and exhibited at La Casa Invisible, with an opening on Saturday, March 1. As part of the workshop, Castro & Ólafsson will design a new poster to commemorate La Casa Invisible’s 18th anniversary.
During the symposium held in Turin on September 20–21, 2024, at Toolbox Torino, participants contributed to the finalization of Eva Frapiccini’s artwork by adding phrases and words that emerged from the listening sessions. In this way, the two photographic works become a record of the voices that come together at each phase of the project, capturing reflections and aspirations for the future of coexistence with the environment. The artwork creates a connection between the two cities, embracing participants’ thoughts on the future of both territories and evolving with new texts produced during the printmaking workshops.
