On the occasion of the reopening of the Alberto Geisser library, a new collaboration was born between Graphic Days® and the network of Turin Civic Libraries:
a laboratory for the editorial activity and risograph printing of the Corrente fanzine was created within the Geisser spaces.
As a corollary, Graphic Days® curates a calendar of events: exhibitions, conferences, workshops for children and activities involving the internal spaces and the park to encourage the opening of the library to the neighbourhood, addressing current issues.
My Alien Friend | Laboratory

A workshop for children dedicated to the concept of diversity, acceptance and tolerance: through the use of the collage technique and the use of colored pencils and markers, each participant created a friendly alien character to reflect on the importance of inclusion.
A traveling poster show

The exhibition presents a selection of posters from Tolerance Project, the initiative promoted by Mirko Ilić that brings together works by leading artists from around the world united by the task of illustrating the word “tolerance” in their native language.
Since its release in 2017, the Tolerance Project has brought a message of social acceptance to more than 400,000 people in over 40 countries.
Design the cover of Corrente! | Laboratory

On the occasion of the publication of the fourth issue of the fanzine Corrente, Graphic DaysⓇ promotes a creative workshop open to children and adults: each participant personalized the cover of the fanzine, through mixed techniques (from collage, to free drawing, to screen printing), designing their own “special edition” of Corrente.
A time of celebration to learn about the fanzine project and look back on all the past issues.
Narratives on fabric | Laboratory

A workshop dedicated to the concept of the flag to design the symbol of an ideal kingdom. The boys and girls worked from a grid, creating a collective work, the result of integrating multiple parts (objects from everyday life and symbols from the natural world).
A kind future

On exhibit a selection of works from the Artists for Climate project, sponsored by TED Countdown in collaboration with Fine Acts. Projects that tell the story of climate change with a vision of hope or contain a clear message about the urgency of actionable change. The exhibition brings together digital illustrations, graphic design, tettering and typography.
Children’s workshop for a kind future

A future that centers on kindness is one in which concern for people and the planet are the primary focus of every design action.
Through the use of different techniques: stencils, tempera, colored paper cutouts, papers with textural weights and textures, each participant will create a free composition with organic shapes inspired by nature. The workshop will make use of recycled materials such as gauze, newspaper sheets, brushes loaded with tempera, caps, etc. to reduce the environmental impact of the activity.
The workshop, organized by Print Club Torino, is open to preschool and elementary school.

A conversation for a kind future

A multi-voice dialogue drawing from the volume “The Girls of the Future” published by People and dedicated to the new global leaders of the Fridays For Future movement to reflect on climate change and solutions to reduce environmental impact.
The reading of excerpts dedicated to Greta Thunberg, Helena Gualinga, Vanessa Nakate, and Helena Neubauer will be paired with a reflection on the concept of eco anxiety, the relationship between environmental crisis and poverty, and how environmental issues are communicated.
Fridays For Future and Greencome, a ‘new media’ that aims to mobilize people and organizations in the fight against climate change, will speak.

Beautifully Diverse
The winners of the latest Posterheroes poster design competition of the Plug association are on display in the Alberto Geisser library: a reflection on the communication of disability in order to promote a culture of diversity free of stereotypes and to enhance authentic and transformative narratives.
Together with the exhibition, the fanzine no. 1 Corrente – A libero Accesso, a theatre workshop on 21 February on the occasion of National Braille Day and two workshops for children.

Blindness is scary because how do you deal with a world without sight?
Darkness is an opportunity: darkness refines the senses and perceptions, it offers the possibility of going further, beyond the eyes. A laboratory on darkness and the senses, a space of common creation in which theatrical practices lead to discovery the invisible.
Erica Pianalto, visually impaired artist, deals with theatre, dance and performance. She collaborates with the company Tecnologia Filosofica (Turin) and since 2019 she has been working to create artistic and laboratory projects that tell about disabilities. She organizes and leads Teatro Selvatico (Cuneo) and Level 4 (Vicenza) projects, such as the Echi theater laboratory and CrashTest Teatro Festival.

Tactile book reading workshop

Fingers can not only touch but also travel, read and even dream: you just need the right books! A reading in the dark of tactile books suitable for nursery school children will pave the way for multisensory exploration activities through which to discover hidden communicative possibilities of different materials and from which to build new pages for curious fingers and eyes!
Area onlus
The association takes care of children and young people with disabilities and Special Educational Needs (SEN), and their family members and caregivers, welcoming over 350 families every year. The Vietato Non Sfogliare project promotes the knowledge and use of accessible books – tactile with translation in Braille, symbols, sign language, highly readable, without words, audiobooks, ebooks, game books,… – through the construction of inclusive paths.

DIVERSITY IN PLAY
Children’s workshop on collage and combinatorial graphics

What are the elements that make up a face? A head, two eyes, a nose and a mouth. But is it really like that? We will have fun imagining new faces in complete freedom through a game of dice and the composition of graphic elements with the goal of recognizing diversity as a starting element for being together.
Print Club Torino
A creative print and graphic arts workshop where to experiment and share ideas, a place where ancient techniques meet new digital technologies (engraving, screen printing, laser, inkjet and risograph) in order to explore new expressive languages. The Print Club is also an educational venue open to all age groups, professionals and the general public.

A free and guided play activity workshop for boys and girls of all ages with Rigamajig, the award-winning construction kit designed by toy designer Cas Holman, used in schools and public spaces all over the world: an open game without rules that stimulates learning, creativity, collaboration and problem solving skills.

Illustrate by nature
A rich calendar of live moments dedicated to illustration with some of the artists exhibited in the exhibition: starting from 5pm workshops for children, curated by Cecilia Campironi and Madeleine Frochaux, followed by a live performance dedicated to watercolor with Silvia Gariglio and finally to 7.00 pm the “talking posters”: Nicolò Canova, Daniela Costa and Chiara Morra talked about the creative process and the message transmitted with the illustration on display.

For the inauguration of the Geisser library, the fanzine project was presented, allowing the public to participate in an interactive experience by interacting with the illustration of the fanzine, print their personal work and rework it through specifically designed stamps.
