Italianism
Italianism is a space, both physical and virtual, where to promote, encourage and introduce the contemporary visual culture of Italy. The pay-off claims “Made by Italians”, meaning that it’s not just a look at what is happening in the peninsula, but also an investigation about what young Italians produce abroad, mixing their DNA with other styles, methodologies and professional behaviours.
Born in 2015 as a creative conference, Italianism is a project designed and directed by Renato Fontana, who has involved, along four editions, more than 300 artist/experts with meetings, technical contributions, artistic collaborations, work presentations. Beginning in Rome, it is now aiming for a national and international diffusion. The In ten words contest is the main initiative of Italianism, developed in partnership with the Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Accademia della Crusca and ADI, the Industrial Design Association.
