Mara Cozzolino

She’s always been interested in printmaking and she’s practiced intaglio for many years before falling in love with Japanese woodblock, or mokuhanga as it is known, during her first trip to Japan 6 years ago. After learning the basis in Edinburgh she specialized in Japan thanks to the Mokuhanga Innovation Lavoratory which is based in Tokyo. Since then she’s beginning teaching mokuhanga in Italy. She attended both the first and second International Mokuhanga Conferences held in Kyoto and Tokyo respectively and will be attending the third which will be held in Honolulu next September and where she will take part in an international exhibition with 2 of her prints.
