Slanted Publishers — Julia Kahl

Julia Kahl (born 1983) studied Communication Design at the University of Applied Sciences in Darmstadt before she moved to Karlsruhe in 2007 to join the Slanted project. She was exposed to writing and editorial work that gave her more satisfaction beyond being just a graphic designer. Back then, her main focus was to establish Slanted as a professional magazine and blog with a worldwide distribution and awareness. She built up a broad network of designers from all over the world that led to other design-related projects and publications in the fields of typography, graphic design, illustration, and photography. In 2014 she then set up the publishing and media house Slanted Publishers together with Lars Harmsen. Slanted was born from great passion and has made a name for itself across the globe. Its design is vibrant and inspiring — its philosophy open-minded, tolerant, and curious.
