Yara Said (b. 1991, Damascus) based in Amsterdam, studied Oil Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Damascus (2009-2014). She is currently an MFA student at the Sandberg institute at Gerrit Rietveld university, Amsterdam. Said’s art is not confined to one discipline. She creates paintings, collages, noise, video as well as writings. The work is very subjective and expressionist, yet at the same time has a strong purpose to communicate with the beholder; to tell a story bigger than herself and more universal.
